Everything you need to write about Pouch: boilerplate, the founder story, our data, our stance, and how to reach us. If you need something that isn't here, just ask.

Pouch in one paragraph

Pouch is a calm baby and toddler product recall alert service. Parents register the gear they own — car seats, cribs, strollers, monitors, formula — and Pouch watches the official government recall feeds around the clock. If something a family owns is recalled, they hear it from Pouch fast, in plain English: what was recalled, why, and the one thing to do next. No panic, no alarmist headlines. Recall information on Pouch is always free.

Who built it

Pouch was founded by three sisters: a mom, a nanny, and Emily, a registered nurse. Each saw the same gap from a different side: recall news that arrives too late, or never, and when it does arrive, usually the wrong way. The mom kept finding out about recalls after the fact. The nanny kept catching unsafe gear in the families' homes she worked in. The nurse had the training to know which recalls actually mattered, and how to flag them without scaring anyone. Today Rachel runs Pouch day to day, and Emily reviews the safety guidance Pouch publishes — so what reaches families is accurate, not just fast.

The data

Every alert traces back to an official government safety authority. We don't guess and we don't aggregate rumors.

Our stance: what we won't do

We don't rank “worst brands.” A higher recall count usually reflects volume, market share, and how proactively a company reports problems, not that its products are more dangerous. A transparent manufacturer that recalls quickly can look “worse” in raw counts than one that drags its feet, because recall counts measure reporting activity, not danger. If you're writing a piece that needs brand-level numbers, we're happy to talk through this caveat with you so the framing holds up.

We also name the worry once, then get useful — we never amplify fear. That's the brand law, and it applies to how we'd like to be quoted too.
