Terms of Service

Last updated: April 6, 2026

These are the terms that govern your use of Pouch. We've kept them as short and plain as possible. By signing up for the Pouch newsletter or using our website, you agree to them.

Who we are

Pouch is a service operated by Rachel Guglietti, based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. You can contact us at thepouchapp@gmail.com.

What Pouch is

Pouch is an informational service that monitors public product recall databases — including the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the EU Safety Gate, and RASFF — and sends a weekly email summary to subscribers, focused on baby and toddler products.

Pouch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency or product manufacturer.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to subscribe to Pouch. By signing up, you confirm that you are.

Your account (currently: just an email)

Today, "your account" is just your email address on our subscriber list. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any Pouch email. There is no fee, no confirmation email, no questions asked.

What Pouch is not — important disclaimers

Pouch is informational, not authoritative. We do our best to surface every relevant recall in a timely way, but we are a small team aggregating publicly available information from third-party sources. We cannot guarantee:

  • That every relevant recall will appear in your weekly digest
  • That recalls will appear within any specific time window after they are issued
  • That the source databases (CPSC, FDA, EU Safety Gate, RASFF) are themselves complete or up to date
  • That a product not listed in Pouch is therefore safe

Always check directly with the manufacturer if you have any concern about a product you own. Pouch is one tool in your toolkit. It is not a substitute for manufacturer notifications, registering your products, or reading official recall announcements directly from the agencies that issue them.

Pouch does not provide medical advice. Any safety tips, blog posts, or general information shared via Pouch — including content authored by team members with medical credentials — is for general educational purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for advice from your pediatrician or another qualified healthcare provider. If you have a medical concern about your child, contact a healthcare professional.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Pouch for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Pouch service or website
  • Scrape or republish Pouch content for commercial purposes without our written permission
  • Use the Pouch name, logo, or branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation when there is none

Intellectual property

All Pouch original content — including the brand name, logo, website design, blog posts, and email templates — is the property of Rachel Guglietti, all rights reserved. Recall data itself is sourced from public government databases and is not owned by Pouch.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pouch and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Pouch service — including any decisions you make about products you own, products you buy, or actions you take based on information we send you.

Pouch is provided "as is" and without warranty of any kind. The recall information we surface is sourced from third parties and we do not independently verify it.

Your safety, and your child's safety, is your responsibility. Pouch is here to help — not to replace your own judgment, your pediatrician's advice, or the official recall notifications from manufacturers and regulators.

Termination

You can stop using Pouch at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter (one click in any email). We may suspend or terminate your subscription if you violate these terms or if we stop operating the service.

If we shut down Pouch entirely, we will email all current subscribers in advance with as much notice as we can.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in any meaningful way, we'll email all current subscribers before the changes take effect. The current version will always be at this URL.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute relating to Pouch will be handled by the courts of Haarlem, the Netherlands.
